Murder most horrid

So, Not really an art post but as i am sharing with you all................... I have a secret. It is a terrible, dark secret and I feel I may explode unless I unburden my heart to you all. I am knowingly harbouring a criminal. A murderer. He has killed two that I know of and possibly many more. He started off hiding his fiendish crimes, but now seems intent on letting us all know what could happen to us if we let slip to anyone what he is doing. Today, he even left one of his kills laying on the floor, twitching its last breath as he looked at me as if to say "You've seen it haven't you? But you wont tell anyone, because they will think you helped, so all you can do is hide the body, dig yourself deeper into my web of lies, and pray for salvation"......and i did it. I hid the body as best I could and prayed that the neighbours didn't hear the screams as it died, on our grass. I never even knew it's name, but to me, it will always be called

"NEVERMORE"

Quoth the Raven, That my Cat Blackjack, killed, along with all the others. R.I.P

Some Mornings.....

So it's Saturday, it's sunny, what will happen?? Well David is off to a flying start, helping out a collector, they decided on the Scottish artist, Lesley Anne Derks. A nice London scene with some incredible lighting effects. I have a good feeling about today, but then that rarely turns out well for me! I have two artists today that I keep looking at, funny how that happens. I can come in one day and almost ignore some of the art on the walls, and other days, I can't stop looking at them. Today, it seems to be the turn of Simon Claridge and Louis Sidoli. Two very different styles, but equally effective. Simons works we have up are older images from his portfolio, Desire I and II.Very sensual and neutral, they have a quiet sexuality that I find intoxicating. Louis however, is Kiln fused glass images of two of my favorite buildings from my favorite place in the world, New york. The buildings, The Chrysler building and the Empire State. I always lean towards the Chrysler building, If you have never been, I urge you to see that building glint in the sunlight and not be amazed.

First Blog!!

So, What to say!!!

I am going to try and make this Blog all about the joys of art collecting, without being too "Preachy". I will talk about day to day, mundane things, as well as try to give a little bit of education to those that desire it!!!
Quiet day today here, think the kids running amok, coupled with the blazing sunshine outside, has deterred would-be collectors from our door. But we remain resolute in our objective to bring the glorious world of art collecting to the masses. It can be hard on days such as this, to find the will and desire to fill our days. David, the Gallery Manager, is cleaning the frames of the artworks, while checking the myriad of e-mails he receives every day. I, Brian, have decided to start up this little venture of blogging, to inspire you people out there to come and say hi to us. I guess I should formally introduce the clan here in the gallery.........Pictures to follow........maybe!!

David - Our glorious leader,Our Rock, the man in charge. Always to be found cleaning, answering e-mails and speaking to the public (A task he does very well) He has unbridled passion for his job, and after 5 minutes in his presence, you will feel it too. A nice guy and a good boss.

Brian - That would be me!! If you want to know which one I am........just look for the blonde guy that has a can of Red Bull Attached to his hand. Yes, I know it's a bad habit, but I like 'em. I used to work in the U.S and was a Fine Art Auctioneer for a while. Crazy......Perhaps. Over energised....For sure. Passionate..........Yup!! I Love toys and tech, girls and fun. I am married to a lovely lady named Kelly.

Helen - To describe Helen as Mumsy would be correct.......If your mum was the "Spring Break, get drunk with the kids" type!! From a graphic design background, you will see her handiwork all over the gallery. Invitations are her specialty, check them out if we have an event coming up.

Claire - The Artist of the group. Just like an artist, she is temperamental, honest and funny. Loves her art and her job. Her art can be found on Deviantart (If you don't know what that is, it is not what you think!) Can often be found at the desk, making sure the paperwork is in order. She is thorough......I am not!!!

Chris - The long haired lover from Liverpool........just not from Liverpool! Chris loves Bargains and gadgets, best if both together!! Outspoken and bold, he knows what you want before you do!! A great Art Advisor and knows his stuff.

and lets not forget..................

Matt - The Monarch, the God to whom we bow, The voice from on high. Our area manager. He is an enigma to be sure!! In a very well respected AC/DC tribute band (which you would not believe if you met him, but he rocks out with the best of them!!) A walking encyclopedia of our art and artists, he is the man we all turn to for those little stories about the artists that we all love to hear.

And there you go, the team in all it's glory. Come and say hi sometime and find out how accurate I was.
